Pen & Ink Drawings of Philippine Baroque Churches


The Old Daraga Church, Albay, Philippines

this work, is painstaikingly done in real pen-ink drawings in about 3 months. 17 years ago, i went to albay just to see this church took photo and worked at home. it was stored in my cabinet for so loong! and now reframed into a beautiful art, the paper had turned brown-looks old, but its so unique now.

this church is an icon in the province of rizal, the most beautiful church in the philippines, it has an italian touch, though the architect was unknown, the edifice was built in 17th century.

I made an on-d-spot sketch and later transferred the image onto a metal plate by drawing it on about 30 days. it is available in beautiful print on special paper, but these are limited.

this church is located in the north of Isabela, Luzon near cagayan. it is one of most flowery church made of bricks. the belfry is unique, i did a sketch from an photo then transferred the image onto a metal plate by drawing it for about 30 days.
